Verizon iPhone 4.25 Internet Tether

Verizon iPhone Personal Hotspot 4.25

With the Big Red (aka Verizon) getting the iPhone 4, it will be running a slightly modified hardware to compensate for it’s new CDMA antenna and slight relocation of it’s side hardware buttons (resulting in new cases for everyone). One of the newer features launching that’s different from AT&T is the internet tethering called “Personal Hotspots”. This feature will allow you to become an internet hub for up to 5 other wifi devices to connect and share the internet with. No note on how fast the battery will drain but this is great news for those who want to ditch their home internet plans and opt for a pure wireless option. No word on pricing for this feature.

And one big difference on Verizon’s iPhone vs. AT&T is that you can’t multi-task a phone call and internet at the same time. Thanks CDMA

Facetime goes 3G

August 2nd, 2010

3G Facetime on iPhone 4

AT&T get prepared for your network! After much fanfare, a jailbreak was finally released for the iPhone 4 and it’s about time! After a quick launch of the iPhone 4 jailbreak, FaceTime goes public with 3G access with no WiFi connection. Thanks to My3G, the jailbreak app mimicks your Wi-Fi connection and tricks it into thinking it’s on Wifi and not on 3G. Still 1 to 1 however so if you’re looking for something with more omph, look into iVisit and check out their app. I hear they have it running on those iPhones.

FaceTime for 3G is $2.99 (ouch) on Cydia for it, or $3.99 on Rock (after a free trial). But, FaceTime over 3G might actually make it worth it so go get it!

Tell me how it goes!

Apple Fruit Peel 520

Apple Fruit Peel 520

We’ve all seen VoIP on the iPod touch before but now Yosion Technology brings out a new product called the Apple Peel 520 and adds voice calling, text messaging, and an extra 800mAh battery to provide up to 4.5 hours of call time / 120 hours of standby awesomeness.

Currently sold in China, this device will be sold anywhere from $44-75 dollars so wait a couple of weeks until it’s tested and proven to work. It may require you to jailbreak your iPod Touch. No word yet if GPRS can work.

iPhone 4 White

iPhone 4 White

What could be so hard to produce a WHITE version of the iPhone 4? Well Apple just released information regarding the availability of its white iPhone 4 is going to be pushed back until the “second half of July” (PRNewswire).

“White models of Apple’s new iPhone® 4 have proven more challenging to manufacture than expected, and as a result they will not be available until the second half of July. The availability of the more popular iPhone 4 black models is not affected.”

What’s the world going to do?!

Wait what? iPhone 3G could record video?

December 16th, 2009

iphone-video-recording

In another strange turn of events in the app approval process for the iPhone, Apple has given the green light to a new application that supposdly allows video recording on non iPhone 3Gs models. This means that the phone was not limited by hardware but software. For $0.99 cents, you can download an app that basically allows the same functionality as the iPhone 3GS for video recording. Hurray! One less reason to upgrade to the 3GS or jailbreak…
